2025 World Series of Poker
An argument had broken out on a board reading 2♥A♣K♣4♥5♣ as to who had the best low in a heads up pot.
Fabrizio Gonzalez: J♥6♦6♠3♠
Robert Yass: A♦Q♥A♠6♣
Yass and several table mates tried to convince Gonzalez that Yass had the best low with a live six for half the pot.
Gonzalez almost consented to the table's decision but lucky for him, Robert Mizrachi had just been moved to the table so he explained that the three in Gonzalez's hand made him a better qualifying low, as he was also able to play down to the ace.
The floor was called over to confirm the low and the dealer pipped the cards before the wrong side of the table finally agreed they had been mistaken.
Gonzalez scooped as he had a six-high straight to take the high half of the pot as well.
Eddie Blumenthal limped the cutoff and Benjamin Miner followed with a call from the button. Eduards Rakuss raised from the big blind before Blumenthal three-bet. Miner and Rakuss called.
The action checked to Miner after the dealer put out a flop of J♥5♣10♠, and he bet. Rakuss and Blumenthal called.
When it checked to Miner again on the J♦ turn, he bet again, this time forcing two folds from his opponents.
Phil Ivey and Viktor Blom went heads up to a flop of 9♣9♥5♥. Blom bet and Ivey quickly made the call.
The turn peeled the 9♦ and Blom continued, followed by a quick fold from Ivey.
Viktor Blom raised the button and Jesse Klein defended out of the big blind.
Klein check-called a bet from Blom on the 10♠3♠J♣ flop.
The Q♠ turn checked through for the 3♦ to land on the river. Klein bet and Blom quickly tossed his cards into the muck.
Roland Israelashvili checked a flop of 7♥K♣J♣ from the big blind and Dennis Maschke bet out of the cutoff. Israelashvili check-raised and Maschke called.
Israelashvili checked the A♣ turn and Maschke bet. Israelashvili called.
The 5♦ river caused Israelashvili to check. Maschke bet again, which Israelashvili called. Maschke flipped over A♥7♣6♣3♥ for a flush and a seven-six low to win the entire pot.
Heads up to a turn of 8♣7♣8♠4♥, Ernest Chevrette fired out a bet and was faced with a raise from Poker Hall of Famer, Erik Seidel. Cheverette made the fold.
The very next hand, Seidel called all three streets against Yuval Bronshtein and scooped the pot.
Bronshtein said, "You're good," after Seidel called the third barrel.
Seidel showed his aces and queens for top two pair.
Jake Schwartz raised from the small blind and Brandon Shack-Harris three-bet out of the big blind. Schwartz called.
Schwartz check-called a bet from Shack-Harris on the J♣3♦5♦ flop to see the 6♣ hit the turn. Schwartz checked, and Shack-Harris bet. Schwartz called.
Schwartz checked the J♠ river and Shack-Harris bet. Schwartz called and Shack-Harris turned over the winner with A♥A♣K♣2♦, which was pocket aces (aces-up) for the high with the nut low.
It took little time for a $1 million mystery bounty to be pulled on Sunday at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Tyler Montoya, 23, opened the lucky envelope on Day 2 of Event #1: $1,000 Mystery Millions, a no-limit hold'em tournament that attracted 19,654 entrants across five Day 1 starting flights.
