Event #92: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty
Day 3 Completed
The final five players returned on an unscheduled Day 3 to wrap up Event #92: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold'em, and it was Joshua Boulton who emerged victorious to claim his first WSOP gold bracelet and a top prize of $311,349.
Boulton navigated a tough final table inside the Horseshoe Event Center and battled heads-up against bracelet winner Rob Wazwaz, in an entertaining duel that saw the chips flying back and forth. The win also pushed the Brit over the $1 million mark in recorded live tournament earnings, capping off a summer to remember with a storybook ending.
The 1,115-entry field generated a $1,931,652 prize pool, and the final stretch saw Boulton outlast a stacked finale that included Jimmy Kebe, David Dibernardi, and Ori Mendi. Just hours after lifting the bracelet, Boulton was already on the way to the airport, heading home with the ultimate souvenir.

“Absolutely amazing. Yeah, very lucky, very blessed,” Boulton said moments after the win, still soaking it all in.
After a summer filled with close calls and “unlucky” moments, Boulton’s friends were quick to poke fun at their newly minted champ. “Yeah, I will [stop complaining] now, for sure. That’s my unlucky bad beats ended,” he laughed, referring to a running joke with his rail regarding his frequent protests about running bad.
The support from his rail wasn’t just comic relief, it was a huge part of the experience. “Amazing. That’s what it’s all about,” he said. “My good friends are here, I’ve stayed with one of them for six weeks in a house here. So yeah, this is what it’s all about.”
Boulton entered heads-up play at a slight chip disadvantage but quickly evened the stacks before landing a decisive blow. “I was confident. I had 14 mil, he had 19 mil. I brought it back early and then, yeah, I got lucky at the end.”
Unaware of the personal milestone he had just reached, Boulton was surprised to hear he had crossed $1 million in live earnings. “Okay, I didn’t know that,” he said. “No, just play. Enjoy it. And yeah… win some more money, I hope. More bracelets.” he said when asked if he had any poker aspirations for the future.
But there wouldn’t be much time to celebrate in Las Vegas. “I’m flying home tonight,” he revealed. “Yeah, I’m good to fly home at 9 o’clock tonight, so, yeah. It’s a good going-home present.”
The day began with five players, but that was soon down to four after Dibernardi hit the rail in the opening orbit. On a board with two clubs and holding ace-nine of clubs, Dibernardi shoved the turn and Wazwaz dropped in the call with top pair holding king-queen. The river bricked off, and Dibernardi was out in fifth.
Boulton then collected the last of Kebe's chips after the latter's stack was left wounded in a hand against Mendi. The eventual champion was all-in and behind with ace-nine against the ace-jack of Wazwaz, but binked a nine on the flop to remain in contention.
Mendi was the next victim of Boulton as the two got the chips in preflop in a coinflip situation. Boulton held pocket nines and held against the ace-king of Mendi, setting up the heads-up duel.
Boulton stormed to an early lead and held around a five-to-one advantage at one point, but Wazwaz battled back to even out the stacks. After chipping away at Wazwaz a bit more, Boulton had his opponent all-in and at risk, but he was behind again.
Wazwaz held ace-jack and Boulton had ace-ten, but a ten on the flop sealed the deal for Boulton, which meant Wazwaz had to settle for second.
That concludes the PokerNews coverage of Event #92: $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty, but stay tuned for exclusive updates from the rest of the bracelet events at the 2025 World Series of Poker.
Rob Wazwaz made it 800,000 from the button and Joshua Boulton shoved from the big blind. Wazwaz snap-called for his stack of around 8,000,000.
Rob Wazwaz: A♠J♦
Joshua Boulton: A♥10♣
"Let's hold this time!" said Wazwaz, but that seemed unlikely when the dealer put out a flop of 7♣3♠10♠, pairing Boulton's ten. A 2♠ on the turn opened up the backdoor flush draw for Wazwaz, but he couldn't find it on the 4♥ river, which meant he had to settle for second.

Rob Wazwaz, who had lost a few smaller pots to slide a bit, limped and Joshua Boulton checked his option to see a flop of J♣6♠A♦.
Boulton check-called a bet of 600,000 and then both players checked the 5♦ turn.
When the 8♠ completed the board on the river, Boulton bet 2,200,000 and Wazwaz quickly called. The former tabled the A♠6♥ for two pair and the latter mucked.

Rob Wazwaz has evened out the stacks after being a five-to-one underdog not so long ago.
Joshua Boulton just limped in and Wazwaz checked the big blind to the J♥2♦Q♦ flop, where Wazwaz check-called a bet of 800,000.
The K♥ turn and 7♥ river checked through, and Wazwaz took it down with a pair of deuces holding A♣2♠.

Rob Wazwaz limped the button and snap-called off for 5,350,000 after Joshua Boulton moved all in.
Rob Wazwaz: 8♠8♦
Joshua Boulton: A♥7♥
The 6♣J♠3♥ flop was clean for Wazwaz, but it's never easy as the 6♥ proved when it gave Boulton a heart flush draw. Fortunately for Wazwaz, the 7♦ river was safe and he scored the double.
In the very next hand, Boulton raised the button to 800,000 and Wazwaz called, which brought about a flop of 8♠K♠3♥.
Wazwaz checked, Boulton bet 600,000, and the former check-raised to 1,500,000. The latter called and then called a bet of 1,500,000 on the K♦ turn.
When the Q♠ completed the board on the river, Wazwaz moved all in and Boulton wasted little time in folding his hand.

Joshua Boulton has been wearing down his opponent by winning a lot of pots postflop.
Rob Wazwaz is fighting back though, as he shoved two hands in a row and got his stack back to around 5,000,000.
In the latest hand, Boulton limped the button and Wazwaz checked to the Q♣9♠K♦ flop, where Boulton's bet of 500,000 did the trick as Wazwaz folded.

Joshua Boulton raised to 700,000 from the button and Rob Wazwaz defended from the big.
Both players proceeded to check the K♣10♦Q♣ flop as a well as the 5♠ turn.
When the J♠ river put four to a straight on the board, Wazwaz checked for the third time and folded after Boulton bet 1.2 million.
