Event #93: $3,000 T.O.R.S.E.
Day 1 Started
Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker, bringing you live updates from every bracelet event.
Today marks the start of an event that is a brand-new addition to the WSOP: Event #93: $3,000 T.O.R.S.E. If you're not familiar with this acronym, think along the lines of H.O.R.S.E. except 2-7 Triple Draw replaces Hold'em. Day 1 shuffles up and deals at 2 p.m. local time, with players scheduled to play 12 levels. The first six levels last 40 minutes before increasing to 60 minutes after Level 7, until completion.
Day 1 players will enjoy 15-minute breaks every two hours, but there's no planned dinner break. Anyone wanting to arrive fashionably late to the party can do so until the end of Level 10 at around 11 p.m. local time. One reentry is allowed for players who are eliminated before the close of registration.
If you make it through to Day 2, which begins at 1 p.m. local time on July 12, there will be a 60-minute dinner break after Level 18 (around 7:30 p.m. local time) in addition to 15-minute breaks every two hours. This event has a Day 3 on July 13, although the restart time is yet to be decided.
As this is a new event for 2025, there is no defending champion. That said, expect the best mixed-game grinders to turn up for T.O.R.S.E in an attempt to become the inaugural winner.
