Ladines Wins the Biggest Pot of the Tournament So Far
Level 28
: Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Joshua Ladines limped under the gun before Richard Gryko raised to 480,000 from the small blind. Jeremy Ausmus called from the big blind, but Ladines limp-raised the pot to 2,120,000. Gryko potted it back to 6,840,000, forcing Ausmus to fold. Ladines started with 5,075,000, and called to put himself at risk.
Joshua Ladines: A♠A♦4♣3♥
Richard Gryko: A♥A♣Q♦3♦
Both players had aces, and it seemed likely that the result would be a chop pot.
The dealer put out a flop of Q♠9♥4♠, giving both players a pair, and a chance to win the entire pot. The 10♥ turn didn't change anything, but the board-pairing 4♦ river improved Ladines to trips to win the pot, and take the chip lead from Gryko.
