Nacho Barbero raised from the hijack and was three-bet by Nick Guagenti in the cutoff. John Hennigan called cold from the big blind and Barbero called as well.
Hennigan led out for a bet on the 3♠10♦5♦ flop, which got a fold from Barbero and a call from Guagenti.
Guagenti raised a bet from Hennigan on the 2♣ turn and Hennigan called.
Both players checked on the A♣ river and Hennigan announced a pair of nines.
Jesse Klein: XxXx / 4♥A♥K♠8♠ / Xx
Ben Yu: XxXx / Q♥7♠ - folded on fourth street
David Oppenheim: XxXx / 6♠9♣5♦3♣ / Xx
Elior Sion: XxXx / 6♣K♦5♠Q♦ / Xx
Action picked up on fourth as Klein bet, Yu folded, and both Oppenheim and Sion called.
Klein lead again on fifth and both called again. On fifth, Klein bet all-in for 10,000, Oppenheim completed the bet to 80,000, and Sion called before seventh street checked through.
Oppenheim revealed 8♣6♦5♣ in the hole for two pair, Sion had A♦J♦4♣ in the hole for ace-high, and Klein had 10♥9♠2♥ for a missed flush draw and ace-high. Oppenheim's two pair was enough to scoop, and the 2021 champion Klein was eliminated.
Ryan Miller raised, and Eric Wasserson moved all in in the big blind for 110,000. Miller called off, revealing the cards.
Eric Wasserson: K♦J♣
Ryan Miller: A♥9♠
Wasserson flopped a guthshot on 5♣Q♦9♣ and turned more outs as the 6♣ gave him a flush draw. The 4♠ river changed nothing, however, making Wasserson the first casher of the tournament.
Chris Hunichen: XxXx / 2♠3♦A♠5♠ / Xx
Yuri Dzivielevski: XxXx / 8♣Q♠8♠Q♥ / Xx
Jesse Klein: XxXx / 5♦J♥2♣7♥ / Xx
Action picked up on fourth as it checked to Hunichen who bet. Dzivielevski then raised, Klein cold-called, Ben Yu folded 5♣9♦, and Hunichen called.
Dzivielevski led fifth with open eights and both Klein and Hunichen called.
It checked to Hunichen on sixth and he bet as three players went to seventh. The same sequence occurred on seventh. Hunichen tabled 6♦6♣2♥ in the hole for a six low and Dzivielevski had 7♠7♦7♣ for a full house. Klein showed that he had three jacks as Dzivielevski got there on seventh to make a full house from his three pair, and Klein is left short.
No waiting until the voting process takes place next June. Put him in now.
That's what Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu say about getting Michael Mizrachi, who could be less than 24 hours away from winning the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, into the Poker Hall of Fame.
Hellmuth, who feuded with Nick Palma during a WSOP event over an unrelated issue Tuesday night, shared a video on X with his buddy Negreanu discussing "The Grinder's" Hall of Fame credentials.
Brian Rast: A♣10♥7♠/3♠A♦3♦8♥
Nick Guagenti: XxXx/9♥8♣4♠6♠/Xx
Brian Rast bet on fourth, fifth, and sixth street, and Nick Guagenti called three times. Rast tanked for a while before checking seventh street. Guagenti then bet, and Rast took some more time before calling.
Guagenti announced nines-up, prompting Rast to quickly table aces and threes to take the entire pot.
Ashish Gupta: XxXx/2♦8♥Xx- folded on fifth street
Nacho Barbero: Q♥XxXx/5♦Q♣10♠10♥
Tomasz Gluszko: A♥K♥6♥/9♥A♠2♠J♥
Ashish Gupta brought in, Nacho Barbero completed, and Tomasz Gluszko two-bet. Both Gupta and Barbero called to fifth street, where Gluszko bet when he caught an ace.
Gupta and Babero tossed in calls to fifth street. Gluszko kept firing, quickly folding out Gupta. Barbero raised, however, and Gluszko called. Barbero bet sixth street, with Gluszko calling to seventh street.
Seventh street saw Barbero check, after which Gluszko tossed in a bet. Barbero quickly called to force a showdown.
"Flush. Casino Royale," Gluszko stated as he fanned an ace-high flush. Barbero showed only the queen of hearts before he sent his seven cards to the muck in defeat.
Tomasz Gluszko: XxXx/Q♦2♦A♦
Jason Mercier: XxXx/2♥4♠7♦- folded on fifth street
One hand later, Gluszko completed, and Jason Mercier raised. Gluszko called to fourth street, which he checked over to Mercier. Mercier bet, and Gluszko called.
Gluszko led out when he caught his third diamond on fifth street, and Mercier did not take long before he forfeited the pot by mucking his cards.
