"I'm Such a Donkey"
With around 350,000 already in the pot on a board of 8♦J♣4♠Q♥10♥, Martin Kinder fired 150,000 from early position, and Ali Ayub sank deep into the tank on the button.
Searching for an answer, Ayub looked across the table and asked, "What is it, nines or tens?" Kinder offered no response.
The agony dragged on for Ayub as he repeatedly apologized to the rest of the table for taking so long.
After another minute or so, Ayub asked the same question again.
"What is it, nines or tens?"
This time Kinder broke his silence with, "Which do you want it to be?"
Even that wasn't enough to settle Ayub's mind. Before acting, he stood up, looked down at his chips and said, "Oh man, I'm such a donkey!"
Eventually, Ayub committed around half of his stack with the call.
His read had been spot on. Kinder tabled 9♣9♥ for a rivered straight, while Ayub revealed A♠Q♦, having been ahead with top pair on the turn.
