Givens Given Dream Turn to Ship Monstrous Pot

Level 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Christopher Chaudey kicked off the action with a raise to 160,000 in early position. Behnam Patros called in the hijack, and so did Will Givens on the button. Ricardo Cermeno defended his big blind, and the quartet saw a flop of A3J.

After Cermeno had checked, Chaudey continued for 150,000. Behnam Patros then raised to 450,000, and Givens three-bet to 1,450,000. Cermeno and Chaudey quickly got out of the way, but Patros called.

Givens sized down significantly on the Q turn, sliding 860,000 forward after Patros had checked. Patros then called, and the 8 river appeared.

Patros checked again, prompting Givens to announce a bet of 2,600,000, nearly covering his opponent's remaining stack. Patros spent about five minutes in the tank before Givens called the clock.

Patros' countdown had nearly reached zero when he abruptly threw in a calling chip. Givens jumped up as he tabled K10 for the nut straight, celebrating with his rail as he took down the enormous pot.

Patros, meanwhile, was left with less than a big blind to try and spin up after the extended break.
