Melnyk dominated Vargas, and his lead was strengthened when the flop dropped J♦5♥8♣. The rail supporting Vargas began chanting for a nine, and the 9♣ appeared on the turn, seemingly in response to their prayers, giving Vargas more outs to improve.

Melnyk started muttering in his native language when the 7♣ fell. Vargas and his rail started celebrating over the rivered straight, while Melnyk started groaned in frustration.

The dealer pushed the pot in Vargas' direction as both players graciously shook hands.
