Bretzfield Busts With the Wrong Manifestation

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ryan Hansen limped in from under the gun. Josh Arieh and Matthew Bretzfield did the same from the button and small blind before Thomas Zanot checked in the big blind.

The flop came J5K. Bretzfield led out for 200,000, pushing Zanot out of the pot. After asking for what Bretzfield had behind, Hansen raised it up to 500,000. Arieh got out of the way, prompting Bretzfield to go all in for 775,000. Hansen quickly called, taking them to the following showdown.

Matthew Bretzfield: Q1092 All in
Ryan Hansen: AKJ9

Bretzfield got on his feet and claimed he was waiting for a backdoor flush. He started praying for a heart to come down, and as if his prayers were heard, the dealer peeled a 5 turn and a 7 river.

With the board completed, Bretzfield celebrated with a cheer for catching a flush. Just to be reminded that Hansen had the higher flush.

One of the players at the table, said "That's what you call manifestation. He called it and it happened."
