"Your Mistake Saved Me"
A.J. Allee limped from middle position before Antony Rubin followed with a limp from the cutoff. Seiji Sasaki wanted to play for more and raised to 1,850,000 on the button. Allee called, and Rubin called to keep the pot three-handed.
The 4♦5♠10♥ flop led to a pair of checks over to Sasaki, who went all-in for 12,850,000 in response.
Allee folded after some thought before Antony Rubin put in his remaining 1,500,000 to be at risk.
Antony Rubin: A♦7♦
Seiji Sasaki: Q♥Q♣
The payout desk appeared to be in the near future for Rubin, but the turn had other plans as the A♠ came down, which prompted Rubin to stand up from his seat in exclamation.
The 9♠ river completed the board, and Rubin survived.
"I should have raised preflop," said Allee, who claimed to have ace-king.
"Your mistake saved me," replied Rubin as he collected the chips.
