Another 1,845 players bought into Event #57: $1,000 Pot-Limit Omaha on Day 1c, but only 104 of them advanced to Day 2. Schuyler Thornton bagged up one of the largest stacks in the room as time was called on proceedings.

Thornton has had several near misses in WSOP events, including a runner-up finish in last year's $2,500 Mixed Limit Triple Draw Lowball event. He may have missed out on glory then, but made amends a few months later by taking down the $10,400 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas for a career-best $2,258,856 score. Thornton returns to the action in this event with 759,000 chips.

According to the WSOP LIVE app, Frenchman Florian Guimond (1,011,000) was this flight's chip leader, followed by Koji Fujimoto (934,000) and Amir Mirrasouli (929,000).
