Chance Kornuth raised and Phil Hui three-bet, which Eli Elezra in the big blind and initial raiser Kornuth called. They checked the J♠8♦8♥ flop to the 9♠ turn on which Elezra bet and Kornuth happened to be the only caller.
Elezra then slowed down and check-called the 2♦ river to muck when he was shown the A♦A♥K♣7♣ by Kornuth. After this hand, Kornuth made space for Eric Wasserson and was moved to another table that had recently lost Jason Kluska, who became the first casualty of the tournament.
