On the tail end of a J♥6♣4♦8♠3♠ board, John Monnette checked in the cutoff and Max Kruse on the button bet 40,000 into a pot of around 60,000. Monnette reluctantly folded and Kruse asked him "what did you have?"
Monnette replied "a jack" and Kruse was somewhat stunned. "One jack?" he inquired in disbelief and then added "I was bluffing but I had the best hand, I had kings. If you call, I might muck my hand," the former German football striker concluded.
One hand later, Ryan Miller raised to 7,000 and Matthew Beinner defended the big blind. On the 4♠2♠2♦ flop, Beinner check-jammed into a bet of 7,000 and Miller folded.
David Benyamine then raised to 8,000 on the button and Beinner called in the next seat. Mike Matusow three-bet to 25,000 for Benyamine to call, while Beinner folded. Matusow continued for 25,500 on the A♣9♠5♦ flop and Benyamine folded.
