Hunichen Wins Big as Table Plays Back-to-Back Huge Hands in Triple Draw

Level 9
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

2-7 Lowball Triple Draw

In a four-way four-bet pot, big blind John Racener drew one card on the first draw. Paul Volpe drew two cards in middle position, and Chris Hunichen and Gus Hansen followed suit in the hijack and on the button, respectively.

Racener then bet, receiving calls from Volpe and Hunichen. Hansen raised, however, seeing all three opponents call. The drawing action on the second draw went one, two, two, pat, after which it checked to Hansen.

Hansen bet, Racener called, Volpe folded, Hunichen raised, Hansen called, and Racener folded after a lenghty tank.

The remaining duo then both remained pat on the final draw. Hunichen tossed in a bet, quickly looked up by Hansen. Hunichen tabled 8x5x4x3x2x for number five, and Hansen mucked his cards.

On the next deal, Hunichen raised in middle position. Dario Sammartino then made it three bets to go in the hijack, and Hansen four-bet in the cutoff. Hunichen called, and so did Sammartino.

Hunichen and Hansen took two cards on the first draw, with Sammartino drawing one in between. Hunichen then checked, Sammartino bet, Hansen raised, and Hunichen folded. Sammartino called, after which he and Hansen each took one card on the second draw.

Sammartino check-called another bet to the final draw, where he requested one new card, with Hansen standing pat behind. Hansen tossed in one more bet after Sammartino had checked, enough to win the pot as Sammartino relinquished his cards.
