Coleman Leaves Mercier on a Short Stack

Level 21

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Jason Mercier: XxXx / 82610 / Xx
Maxx Coleman: 64 / 35Q7 / 8

Jason Mercier check-called a bet on fourth street and Maxx Coleman then checked on fifth street when he picked up a queen. Mercier announced bet and Coleman declared raise for Mercier to call, as they proceeded to sixth street. Coleman bet and Mercier called but that's when things got tricky.

As pointed out by Kristopher Tong, they had the wrong amount of chips out for the fifth street action which should have been a full bet of 200,000 and a raise to 400,000. The floor discussed the situation with the players and even called the higher up floor before it was ruled that the chips in the pot stood as played and no additional 200,000 each were added for the previous mishap.

Only then they proceeded to seventh street on which Coleman bet, Mercier sigh-called and asked, "do you have the flush?"

Coleman had an eight high straight instead and scooped the pot with his low on top to leave Mercier short.
