Philip Sternheimer had opened from early position and called a three-bet from Noah Schwartz in the small blind, with an even 30,000 in the middle.
On the K♦J♣5♠ flop, Schwartz led for 14,000, Sternheimer potted to 72,000, Schwartz raised, and Sternheimer's roughly 85,000 stack was at risk.
Philip Sternheimer: A♣Q♠J♠10♠
Noah Schwartz: A♥A♦Q♦Q♣
Sternheimer had a pair, Broadway wrap, and backdoor spades against the aces, gutter, and backdoor diamonds of Schwartz. The 6♠ turn gave Sternheimer a flush draw for even more outs, but the river was the 2♥, and Sternheimer was eliminated.
He quickly purchased a fresh stack of 150,000 and has retaken his seat.
