Smuskovics Slows Down "The Grinder"

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Michael Mizrachi, who appears to be the current chip leader, opened to 5,000 from early position. Daniel Smuskovics announced a pot-sized three-bet from the cutoff and action folded back to Mizrachi, who quickly raised again to put Smuskovics all in for 35,500 total. Smuskovics called and a showdown was held.

"Good game," Mizrachi joked as he reached across the table to shake Smuskovics' hand. "It was nice playing with you."

Mizrachi was behind, but the 2104 flop improved him to a pair of tens.

The 7 turn added a flush draw to Mizrachi's outs, but a merciful 6 came on the river for Smuskovics, awarding him the double up to put a least a temporary halt to Mizrachi's momentum.
