Gonsalves Sends Riess to the Rail
Level 18
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Thomas Eychenne began the action with an open to 25,000 from under the gun. Ryan Riess responded with a three-bet all-in for 298,000 on the button before Markus Gonsalves entered the picture with a four-bet all-in for 479,000. Eychenne bowed out with a fold as Riess and Gosalves went to a showdown with Riess at risk.
Ryan Riess: 10♥10♣
Markus Gonsalves: A♣Q♣
Riess was ahead before the runout, but the flop was all Gonsalves when it came 4♣2♣A♦ to give him top pair and a flush draw to boot.
The J♦ turn was of no help to Riess, and the 2♦ river was the final card he would see in the tournament.
