Misclick Costs Pugh-Jones
Gruffudd Pugh-Jones limped from the cutoff before Jason Koon made it 32,000 from the small blind. Ian Matakis joined with a call out of the big blind.
"Thirty-two?" said Pugh-Jones, and in one motion accidentally put a 100,000 chip instead of a 25,000 chip to throw out 107,000 instead of 32,000. The floor was called over to make a ruling. Despite the table understanding that Pugh-Jones meant to call, he was bound to the re-raise to 107,000.
Koon responded with a pot four-bet as Matakis and Pugh-Jones folded in response.
"It's a stupid spot because he obviously meant to call," said a visibly bothered Koon. "Angle shooters f***ed you there," said Koon, referencing why a ruling of that nature exists.
"I had aces. I can't call," said Koon to Pugh-Jones as he explained why he raised in response to the misclick.
An understanding Pugh-Jones took the ruling in stride as he tapped the table and nodded towards Koon, and play continued.
