Martirosian Leads; Sternheimer Chips Up

Level 10 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Joni Jouhkimainen raised to 70,000, and was called by Philip Sternheimer on the button and Chris Frank in the small blind. They checked the 984 flop to the J turn, on which it checked to Sternheimer, who bet 85,000.

Two calls later, players headed to the J river, on which it checked to Sternheimer once more. He used one time bank and then bet 505,000 into a pot of 580,000, forcing two quick folds.

While the hand played out, Daniel Negreanu vividly remarked that Artur Martirosian always had the nuts. In the most recent hand that was happening at the same time, Martirosian knocked out Lou Garza when his AQQJ turned a straight on the 1092KK runout to send Garza to the rail.
