The next hand Nick Pupillo made it 400,000 in the cutoff, and Hellmuth defended in the big blind.
The duo checked through the 8♦6♥3♥ flop, prompting Hellmuth to lead out for 600,000 on the Q♠ turn. Pupillo called to the 10♦ river, which was quickly checked to showdown.
"I missed," Hellmuth admitted as he tabled 7♦5♦. Pupillo just had a pair of sixes with A♣6♠, but it was enough to take the pot.
