Green Doubles Through Cohen in a Flush-over-Flush Contest

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Sam Cohen
Sam Cohen

We picked up the action on the flop {4-Spades}{2-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Sam Cohen was in the big blind and checked to John Green, who fired 3,100. Cohen check-raised to 11,500 but Green decided to hang around.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} and the betting brought a fast process as they immediately ended up all-in. Cohen's hand improved to flush on the turn as she turned over {5-Spades}{3-Spades}. Bad news for her, the third spade was what Green was looking for, too. He had {9-Spades}{7-Spades} and while Cohen still had a chance to seize the pot, the miraculous straight flush didn't arrive. Cohen had to ship another 22,400 Green's way.
