David Peters Doubles Up

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

In the very first hand at his new table, David Peters got all of his chips in.

The button opened to 700, the small blind made it 2,000, and Peters moved all in for 6,325 in the big blind. The button quickly folded, and the small blind called, putting Peters at risk.

Peters: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Small blind: {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The board came {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}, and Peters' ace-high held up for the double.

After the hand, the small blind commented, "I might regret that in a couple hours."

Peters laughed and collected the chips.

Rudziankov Folds to All-In on the River

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Under the gun, Artur Rudziankov opened to 700. The player on the button three-bet to 2,100, and action returned to Rudziankov, who aimed at his opponent's stack and called.

The flop brought {10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and Rudziankov check-called another 2,300 before the {K-Clubs} hit the turn. No bets were made on that street, so the dealer turned over the {10-Spades} on the river.

Rudziankov checked again, but his opponent announced he was all in, and Rudziankov laid his hand down. He is, however, still sitting very strong with around 28,500 chips in front of him.

Affleck Doesn't Get There; Loses Big One

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Matt Affleck, who made it to the final table in the 18,054-entry Colossus Event to finish in eighth place for $103,090, just lost a huge pot.

There were only four players at Affleck's table, and three of them, including Affleck, were involved on the {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Action checked to the button, who bet 1,000. The small blind check-raised to 2,500, and Affleck check-re-raised to 5,500.

The player on the button quickly mucked, but the small blind responded with an all-in, which was instantly called by Affleck, who had a strong draw with {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. He faced {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, the bottom set, and didn't get any piece of the remaining two cards on the board.

Affleck shipped 14,925 chips his opponent's way, leaving him with a big double. Affleck himself dropped below 12 big blinds.

Phillip Hui Joins Maurice Hawkins and Eric Rivkin

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

With Eric Rivkin sitting in Seat 2 and ten-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Maurice Hawkins in Seat 4, bracelet winner Phillip Hui got seated in Seat 3.

When he brought his chips over to sit down, Hawkins yelled, "Welcome to the table! Oh this is great, welcome," playfully. Then he asked Hui, "What you doing here? This isn't H.O.R.S.E."

Hui laughed it off.

A little while later after chips had been exchanged, Hawkins had lost more than half of his stack, and Hui had chipped up.

Rivkin got short but just took down a pot and is now at 12,000.

Molly Mossey Eliminated

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante
Molly Mossey
Molly Mossey

Fellow reporter and poker player Molly Mossey was just eliminated.

According to players at the table, Mossey opened to 800 on the button, and both blinds called.

The flop came {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, and it checked to Mossey. She continued for 1,700, the small blind folded, and the big blind moved all in, having Mossey barely covered. Mossey called and was ahead with top pair, top kicker.

Mossey: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Big blind: {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

The {8-Clubs} turn changed nothing, but the {4-Clubs} river gave her opponent two pair to win the hand, eliminating Mossey.

Drinan Runs Over His Table

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Connor Drinan
Connor Drinan

Sporting his trademark glasses, Connor Drinan has turned on his usual beast mode. His stack is constantly growing, and that is the case for chips of all denominations. He added some fresh ones just recently, mainly those of the yellow, most valued color of 1,000 apiece.

Drinan was on the button in three-way action, and he checked just as his opponents did on the turn reading {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. There was about 8,000 in the middle already.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}, and the player in the cutoff bet out 3,000. Drinan took about a minute before calling, and the third player folded out of the way.

Drinan was shown {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}, so his queens up with {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} were good.

Maria Lampropoulos Gets Two Folds

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Maria Lampropoulos had a T1,000 chip in front of her in middle position, and Orlando Romero raised to 3,250 in the small blind. The big blind called, and Lampropoulos thought for a couple minutes before reraising to 13,000. Romero folded and the big blind folded pocket sevens face-up.

"I felt another set coming, too," the big blind said.

Lampropoulos, who recently won an event worth seven figures at Dusk 'Til Dawn, is now up around 50,000 chips in this one.

Smaron Wins Four-Bet Pot

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Philadelphia's Kenny Smaron, an online sit-and-go legend, was in a big clash on his table. Smaron presumably opened from under the gun, and a player in the small blind three-bet to 2,625. Smaron fired back with a four-bet, making it 5,400. He received a call.

The {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs} fell on the flop, and the small blind checked quickly. Smaron had only around 8,000 chips left behind. He paused for a minute before throwing in 2,500, although it wasn't clear if he announced all in or not. Either way, his opponent folded instantly, and the four-bet pot joined Smaron's belongings as he soared up to 18,000.
