Monnette and Richardson Chop a Big One

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Big O

John Monnette bet 4,400 on a board of {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}, and he got called by Sorel Mizzi in the cutoff and Alan Richardson in the big blind. On the {2-Spades} river, Monnette bet 18,800 and got a call from only Richardson.

Monnette showed {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for kings up and the second-nut low. Richardson had {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} for better kings up and took the high half of the pot.

Sternheimer Doubles Through Bowker

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Kyle Bowker had a pot-sized bet of 8,200 in front of him on the button, and Philip Sternheimer was thinking from under the gun. The board read {4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, and Sternheimer moved all in for 16,700. Bowker snap-called.

"You have kings?" Sternheimer said, turning over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Spades} for middle set on the flop.

Bowker was drawing with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} but it was quite a draw. The {6-Spades} was a brick though, and Sternheimer doubled through.

Richardson Folds Aces

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

Big O

From the cutoff, Alan Richardson opened to 1,400, and John Monnette called on the button.

The flop landed {9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Hearts}, and Richardson checked to Monnette, who bet 1,700. Richardson called, then checked when the turn landed the {9-Spades}. Monnette bet 3,100 and Richardson tabled his {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

"I assume you're folding?" asked Monnette.

"I've lost with aces five times today!" announced Richardson before he tried to reach for Monnette's hand.

Monnette tabled just his {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and quickly put his other three cards into the muck and scooped the pot.

Eight-Eight Scoop for Ramos

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

Badeucey

David "ODB" Baker raised to 1,600, and Felipe Ramos called in the small blind as both players drew two.

Ramos checked, and Baker bet 800. Ramos called and drew two again, as did Baker.

Ramos checked, and Baker bet 1,600, with Ramos calling and both players drawing one.

After the final draw, Ramos checked, and Baker bet 1,600, only to have Ramos check-raise to 3,200. Baker called quickly, and Ramos fanned his {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for an eight-eight.

Baker shook his head and acknowledged a scoop, as Ramos indicated he caught the {8-Diamonds} last.

"Yeah I had you before that," announced Baker as he mucked his hand.

Racener Left in the Cold

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo Regular

A huge stud hi-lo regular pot developed between John Racener, Sampo Ryynanen, and James Obst. Ryynanen had the betting lead until sixth street, and their boards ran out as follows:

Racener: {x-}{x-}/{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Ryynanen: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Obst: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Ryynanen bet again, but Obst raised this time, showing three to a wheel and a pair. Racener called, as did Ryynanen. Obst bet again on the end and got two calls. He showed {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for trips and an eight-low, but Ryynanen had {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} in the hole for a seven-low.

Racener mucked, and despite the setback, he's still well above the starting stack.

Kurtzman KO'd by Dehkarghani

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Eric Kurtzman
Eric Kurtzman

Pot-Limit Omaha

Catching the action on the turn, with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the pot sitting at around 9,200, Eric Kurtzman bet 6,500 from the big blind.

Ray Dehkharghani was on the button, and he deliberated for a few moments before calling.

The river was the {K-Spades}. Kurtzman sat there for roughly a minute and then announced, "I bet the pot!"

The dealer informed Kurtzman that it was 22,200, and Kurtzman pushed forward his 19,375-chip stack.

Dehkharghani tossed in a chip to signify a call, and Kurtzman stated, "King-jack."

Dehkharghani tabled {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, and at first glance, the table assumed it was a chop before David Benyamine tapped the three which gave Dehkharghani kings full.

Kurtzman tabled his {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for trip kings and made his exit from the tournament area.

Buchalter Misses

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Adam Owen bet into two players from the big blind after the first draw and got two calls, which swelled the pot to about 10,000. Owen bet after both opponents pulled one, and Yehuda Buchalter raised. Eric Wasserson mucked, and Owen called and patted again. Buchalter drew again and checked back. He turned over the {10-Hearts}, but Owen had {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}.

Massive Badcey Pot

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Badacey

Chris Vitch (big blind), Dzmitry Urbanovich (cutoff), and Stephen Chidwick (button) got in three bets on the first round and each drew two. After the draw, Urbanovich bet, Chidwick raised, Vitch called, Urbanovich reraised, and Chidwick reraised again. Vitch called, as did Urbanovich.

Everyone drew one, and action checked to Chidwick, who bet. Vitch called, Urbanovich raised, and Chidwick reraised. Vitch tanked for a while and then released, and Urbanovich called. Both patted the end, and Urbanovich check-called a bet.

Chidwick showed {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} for a seven-low and five-badugi, but it wasn't enough to scoop, as Urbanovich had {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} for a six-six.
