Kyle Montgomery Almost Doubles Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Kyle Montgomery was sitting in the small blind with about 50,000 chips. A player opened in middle position and Montgomery raised the pot. The raiser immediately raised all in and Montgomery called.

Their stack sizes were about equal, with Montgomery holding a slight advantage in chips. He was behind and in need of a perfect runout in order to continue.

He had {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Spades} versus the {j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs} of his opponent.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and Montgomery won the hand and basically doubled up while eliminating his opponent.

Juuso Leppanen probably had no idea what he was getting into when he opened to 6,500 from middle position. Adam Owen called in position and the small blind called as well.

Shaun Deeb was in the big blind and raised to go all in for 9,700. Leppanen raised the pot and Owen quickly went all in. The small blind got a count from Owen and it was 86,300 total. He called.

Hands:
Owen: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Leppanen: {10-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Deeb: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Small Blind: {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Owen won both the huge side pot (240,000) and the much smaller main pot (40,000).

Pierce McKellar Takes Chip Lead With Quads, Cracks 200,000

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Pierce McKellar just became the chip leader when he turned quad tens against Nacho Barbero.

Barbero opened preflop from the cutoff.The small blind called and McKellar called.

The flop was {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked around to Barbero. He bet 8,000 and the small blind folded.

McKellar raised, tossing in a handful of 5,000 chips and putting Barbero at risk should he called. Which he did.

"Do you have a deuce?" questioned Barbero.

"No."

McKellar tossed out his hand face up and he had flopped a full house with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-}{x-} of Barbero.

The turn was another ten, the {10-Hearts}, and the river was the {5-Spades}. McKellar won a huge pot worth more than 100,000.
