Ryan Laplante Survives

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Ryan Laplante was under the gun and moved all in for his remaining 10,000 chips. Action folded to Juan Ramirez in the big blind who peeled back his cards and looked at them with Laplante, seeing the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Ramirez called and Laplante tabled {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Laplante stood up from his chair as the dealer ran out the board and showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades} and Laplante got his double up.

Juan Ramirez Chips Up

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Steadily climbing the leaderboard has been the team of Juan Ramirez, Senovio Ramirez and Matt Lapossie.

Here is a look at the latest hand they played:

Juan Ramirez was in middle position and opened the action to 2,800. Kevin Johnson was in the big blind and defended.

The flop was {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and both players checked to the turn which was the {7-Diamonds}. Both players checked again and the river came up the {8-Hearts}.

Johnson checked a third time and Ramirez fired out a bet of 5,000. Johnson went into the tank for a couple of minutes and then called. Ramirez announced he had a straight and tabled the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Johnson's hand went into the muck and left his team very short at this stage of the tournament.
