Monnette Scoops a Monster

John Monnette opened to 65,000, Darren Elias three-bet to 240,000, and Monnette called.

They both drew one and Elias fired out a bet of 525,000. Monnette quickly called and Elias snap-mucked his hand. Monnette took down the huge pot without a showdown.

Monnette now holds more than half of the chips in play.

As the dealer was dealing Monnette's two, one card was briefly exposed, showing the {Q-Clubs}. The dealer and floor agreed and Monnette was dealt another card.

Hildebrand then bet 150,000. Monnette thought for a bit, then folded.

"Queen good?" Monnette asked. "My first card gave me a seven."
