Per Hildebrand raised to 15,000, and Konstantin Maslak defended his big blind. Maslak drew two cards, and Hildebrand took one. Both players checked, and Maslak announced an ace. Hildebrand had that beat with and won the pot.
Then, Darren Elias defended his big blind to a raise by Paul Volpe for 15,000. Volpe stood pat, and Elias drew one, then bet 32,000. Volpe grabbed calling chips and checked his stacks before sending his cards into the muck.
Darren Elias raised from under the gun, and James Chen defended the big blind, then drew two cards. Elias only drew one card, and Chen checked. Elias bet 27,000, and Chen called to see Elias roll over for a pair of sevens. Chen had that beat with for a ninety-eight, and he won the pot.
Mike Gorodinsky raised to 13,000, and John Monnette called in the cutoff, as did Mike Leah in the small blind. Each of the three players drew one card apiece, and Leah checked. Gorodinsky bet 42,000, and Monnette gave it some consideration before folding. Leah called, and Gorodinsky rolled over to claim the pot.
Xavier Kyablue opened to 15,000, and Jon Turner called. Darren Elias called in the big blind and drew two. Turner and Kyablue both drew one apiece.
Elias checked, and Kyablue bet 30,000. Turner called, and Elias went all in for 150,000. Kyablue folded, and Turner took about 40 seconds before eventually calling with .
John Monnette opened to 13,000, and Mike Leah called. Out of the big blind, Mike Gorodinsky raised to 50,000, and Monnette called, while Leah folded. Gorodinsky stood pat, and Monnette drew one. Gorodinsky checked, and Monnette shoved for 185,000 effective, as that's what Gorodinsky had left. Gorodinsky folded, and Monnette raked in the pot without showdown.
Over on the other table, Paul Volpe raised to 13,700, and James Chen three-bet to 45,000. Volpe called, and both players drew one, Volpe then checked. Action was on Chen, and both players stared at each other. More than a minute passed, and Chen bet 62,000.
Volpe called, and Chen showed for a pair of sixes. Volpe also had a pair with , and once again his deuces were good enough to claim a decent pot.
There has been no casualty in the money just yet, and the 14 remaining players were sent into a 60-minute dinner break. The action will resume at approximately 9.35 p.m. local time, and another four levels of one hour each are scheduled for tonight.
