James Hoeppner Eliminates One

Level 5 : 300/600, 0 ante

James Hoeppner raised in middle position, Mike Cordell three-bet in the next position, and the button went all in for 625. The small blind four-bet, the big blind folded, and Hoeppner and Cordell both called.

Three players were involved in a side pot and the flop came {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. The small blind bet and Hoeppner and Cordell called.

On the {7-Diamonds} turn, the small blind checked, Hoeppner bet, Cordell called, and so did the small blind.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}, putting a fourth diamond on the board and the small blind checked. Hoeppner bet again and Cordell shook his head a bit before folding. Action was on the small blind and he went into the tank.

He eventually folded and Hoeppner showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} for a pair of aces, no diamond, which was good enough to win the pot and eliminate the all-in player. The small blind let out an expletive, indicating he had the best hand, but Hoeppner dragged the pot.
