Jeff Coddinton
Jeff Coddinton

According to the table, Jeff Coddington got it in with two pair against Craig Varnell for heaps. Varnell had {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and Coddington had {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The total action on the hand is unclear, but Varnell had lost a decent-sized pot against Vanessa Selbst just prior to this hand. Coddington is now the new chip leader in the field and has amassed over 450,000 chips.

Meanwhile Varnell, who had been the Day 1 chip leader, has to settle for a min-cash.

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Kitty Kuo
Kitty Kuo

Kitty Kuo was in middle position, and she was all in. The board read {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

Mikhail Rudoy and the player under the gun were heads up on the side, and they both checked the {Q-Hearts} turn and the {5-Spades} river.

Kuo had {A-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a pair of fives on the river, but Rudoy's pocket sevens were good. Kuo was eliminated, and Rudoy collected the pot.

Ace on the River

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Action folded to Morten Mortensen in the cutoff, and he opened to 5,500. The button opted to fold, but bracelet winner Simeon Naydenov in the small blind was planning on playing a bit bigger. He bumped the action to 18,200 with just over 56,000 behind. The big blind folded, and action was back on Mortensen. The Dane tanked for a bit before he moved all in. Naydenov called.

Simeon Naydenov: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Morten Mortensen: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The flop ({9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}) and turn ({3-Spades}) didn't do much, but the {A-Clubs} on the river made all the difference for the player from Bulgaria. Naydenov doubled his 74,400-chip stack, Mortensen was left with 41,700.
