Kerl Survives Before Break

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Mike Wattel bet into three opponents, one of whom had checked out of the big blind. Everyone called and drew one. Everyone checked and drew once again on the final round. Dean Kerl bet out with a wide grin on his face and got calls from Wattel and Andrew Kelsall.

"Eighty-six perfect," he said, tabling his hand.

Wattel mucked {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}, and Kelsall had what looked like an eight-seven.

At the conclusion of the following hand, players went on break for 15 minutes.

Clayton Doubles Through Wattel

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Mike Wattel raised in the small blind, and Russell Clayton made it three bets in the big. Wattel called and took three, while Clayton drew two. Wattel bet out, Clayton raised, and Wattel put him all in for about 6,000 total.

Both of the last two rounds went one card for Wattel and two for Clayton, and Wattel turned over {7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}. Clayton had {10-}{4-}{3-}, so he was in rough shape. Wattel rolled over an ace, though, and Clayton had {5-}{2-} to make a ten for the win.
