Alipourfard Gets Short

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

After coming back from dinner, Mansour Alipourfard raise-folded in one hand, and the blinds went through him to see his stack dwindle near the danger zone of 10 big blinds. Eluterio Rodriguez limped from the small blind, and Alipourfard moved all in and claimed the pot without showdown.

One hand later, Lewis LeClair raised, and William Murray called in the big blind. The flop came {K-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and Murray checked, LeClair bet 200,000, and that ended the hand right there.

Spitzberg Finds a Way to Slow Heimiller

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Paul Spitzberg opened with a raise to 135,000 from the button. He found one call from Dan Heimiller in the big blind.

On the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop, both players checked. The turn was the {7-Spades}, and Heimiller put out a bet of 100,000 that was quickly called by Spitzberg.

The river was the {10-Spades}, and Heimiller decided to fire again, this time for 500,000. Spitzberg did not take long at all to call.

"Good call," Heimiller said, turning up {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Spitzberg showed {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and his ace-high with two pair on the board was good enough to take down the pot.

Castaing Gets Very Tricky Against Klein

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Bill Klein opened to 125,000, and Federico Castaing called in the small blind.

On the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Castaing checked, and Klein continued for 100,000. Castaing check-raised to 210,000, and Klein reraised to 390,000, which Castaing called. On the {7-Diamonds} turn, Castaing checked again, and Klein bet 200,000. Castaing check-raised to 400,000, and that shut down Klein.

Mansour Alipourfard Eliminated in 14th Place ($32,995)

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Mansour Alipourfard
Mansour Alipourfard

Eluterio Rodriguez raised to 130,000, and Mansour Alipourfard moved all in from one seat over. Once the action was back on Rodriguez, he asked to pull in his raise to determine how much more he had to call. The shove of Alipourfard was for another 610,000 on top, and Rodriguez carefully cut out the chips for that and called a mere 10 seconds later.

Mansour Alipourfard: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Eluterio Rodriguez: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

"Eight on the flop," Rodriguez said before the flop fell {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

"Eight on the turn," Rodriguez demanded. It was the {3-Hearts} instead.

"Eight on the river," Rodriguez added. The third time was not the charm either, but the blank {5-Hearts} river was no threat.

"Good run," the rail and players at the table said while Alipourfard headed to the payout desk. He collected $32,995 for his efforts, and the field was reduced to the last 13 hopefuls.

Lillge Doubles

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Paul Spitzberg opened with a raise to 150,000 from the hijack seat. In the big blind, Mark Lillge moved all in for a total of 1,405,000.

"I don't think I can fold this one," Spitzberg said. He asked for a count, then thought for close to a minute before he finally called.

Spitzberg: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Lillge: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The flop put Spitzberg in a deep hole when it came {4-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, giving Lillge a leading pair of kings. He remained in the lead through the {6-Spades} turn and {9-Diamonds} river and earned a massive double-up through Spitzberg, who was left with just over one million chips.

Bacon's Stare Works

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Gina Bacon raised to 125,000 from the small blind, and Eluterio Rodriguez called out of the big blind. On the {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, Bacon continued for 150,000, and Rodriguez checked her stack before calling. Both then checked the {K-Clubs} turn, and Bacon also checked the {K-Diamonds} river.

It was on Rodriguez to make a decision, and Bacon stared at him, which caused plenty of laughter from the rail. Rodriguez checked back, and Bacon turned over {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a full house. Rodriguez only had {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and Bacon was relieved: "Oh, thank god."

Frank Maggio Doubles Through Federico Castaing

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante

Dan Heimiller opened the pot with a raise to 175,000. He was called by Federico Castaing on the button. From the small blind, Frank Maggio raised to 350,000. Heimiller called before Castaing moved all in. Maggio called quickly, and Heimiller frustratedly flicked his hand away.

Maggio: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}
Castaing: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The flop came {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}, providing no extra outs to Castaing, and the {A-Diamonds} on the turn sealed the deal. The river was the meaningless {8-Spades}. Castaing started to stand up from his chair, thinking he had been eliminated, but he actually had several hundred thousand left, so he sat back down.

Mark Lillge raised to 150,000 on the button, and Federico Castaing moved all in from one seat over in the small blind. Lillge asked for a count, and the shove was for 440,000 in total, which Lillge called after brief consideration.

Federico Castaing: {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Mark Lillge: {A-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Lillge's kicker was narrowly ahead, but Castaing took the lead on the {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop. The {8-Diamonds} turn gave Lillge a gutshot, and the {9-Hearts} on the river completed the straight to send Castaing to the rail in 13th place for $32,995.

Rodriguez Shoves Into Bacon

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Gina Bacon raised to 180,000 in the cutoff, and Eluterio Rodriguez called on the button. The duo checked down the board of {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades} entirely, and Bacon showed {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. "Nice hand," Rodriguez said and flashed {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}.

Soon after, Bacon raised to 180,000 again, and Dieter Dechant called in the big blind. Dechant bet the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop for 200,000, and Bacon moved all in to force a fold.

Bacon then raised to 180,000 in the small blind, and Eluterio Rodriguez called. On the {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, Bacon continued for 275,000, and Rodriguez shoved for 1,750,000 to force a fold.
