Darrell Ticehurst Crosses a Half Million

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The action was folded to Darrell Ticehurst on the button, who raised to 15,000. The big blind reraised to 65,000, and Ticehurst called to see the flop of {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

The big blind pushed all in for 67,000, and Ticehurst called.

Ticehurst showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades}, while his opponent had {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

The turn was the {j-Spades}, and the river brought the {4-Clubs}, ensuring the win for Ticehurst. He is the first player to cross the 500,000-chip mark and holds the current chip lead over the remaining players.

The action was folded around to the cutoff, who piled his remaining 54,500 chips into the middle. James Moore was in the small blind and called. The player in the cutoff immediately regretted his decision. "Oh no, that's not good," he said.

Moore tossed {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} face-up, while his opponent had {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and Moore added more chips to his stack while eliminating another player.

Ronald Swain Takes the Chip Lead

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ronald Swain raised to 10,000 from under the gun and was called by Roy Jones in the big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Jones checked to Swain who bet 12,000. Jones called and the turn was the {a-Clubs}.

Jones checked again and Swain bet 15,000 which Jones called. The river brought the {2-Diamonds} and Jones pushed all in for 169,000. Swain instantly called and Jones tabled his hand first: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Swain showed his cards right away too and made the nut flush with {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

In what was a massive cooler for Jones, it turned out to be the biggest pot of the day going the way of Swain and giving him the chip lead with just 66 players remaining.
