Today is the start of 2017's always-popular Monster Stack! Last year’s champion is Mitchell Towner from the United States. He took home his first WSOP gold bracelet in his first-ever WSOP tournament cash, collecting $1,120,196 for topping a 6,927-player field. Towner has $1,134,553 in WSOP earnings and three WSOP cashes overall, two of them being from this year’s 48th Annual World Series of Poker.

This is a five-day event with two starting flights for Day 1. Day 1a and 1b will start at 10 a.m. on June 24 and June 25, with play scheduled to last 10 levels of 60 minutes before bagging for Day 2. Players can only choose one flight and are not allowed any reentry. They will start with 15,000 chips to try to run up. There will be a 20-minute break every two levels and a 90-minute dinner break after Level 6. Late registration is expected to close after eight levels, around 8.30 p.m.
