Negreanu Ousted in a Three-Way All-In; Madsen Soars

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Jeff Madsen limped from the hijack, and his neighbour Daniel Negreanu wanted to make a move with his short stack. Negreanu raised it up to 2,800, finding a customer in the form of small blind Daniel Weinman. The action returned to Madsen, who re-raised pot, bumping it to 15,200. Negranu was happy to hear that, and he slid in his last 9,300. Weinman scanned Madsen's stack and called his three-bet.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Weinman asked Madsen how much he had behind, which was roughly 10,000. Weinman moved all in, and Madsen called off for his last 9,500. With no further action to come, all three hands were turned up.

Daniel Negreanu: {J-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Jeff Madsen: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Daniel Weinman: {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Negreanu was in bad shape, blocking his own gutshot straight draw and trailing with pocket jacks. Madsen had double-suited aces, but Weinman's hand had solid equity to provide a double knockout as he rolled over a wrap and bottom pair.

The {3-Hearts} turn and the {2-Spades} river, however, changed nothing, leaving Madsen out front. He took all of Negreanu's chips and scored a full double through Weinman on top of that.

Negreanu and Madsen pumped fists before the Canadian superstar left the tournament area. Madsen is now back over a starting stack.
