Day 3 Started
Welcome to Day 3 of Event #63: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
Patrick Truong starts the day as chip leader with 1,130,000 while Michael Amato is second with 1,111,000 and Ryan Hughes third with 1,040,000. The three Americans are the only players out of 20 remaining with more than 1 million currently, but there is a long way to go and a very talented collection of players still in for a $1K event.
The final group includes three multiple bracelet winners. John Monnette has three to his name while Ryan Hughes and Andy Frankenberger have two apiece.
One of the other players in the field hungry for their first taste of ultimate WSOP glory is Eddy Sabat. He has already notched up four cashes so far this summer, with his biggest score a fourth place in Event #29, the $2,500 NLHE event for $143,148.
From an original field of 1,750 and after 21 hours of live poker so far, the survivors are set to play down to a winner today. When two players have been eliminated there will be a full redraw for two tables, then a final redraw for the final 10 players.
Cards are in the air at 12 noon and PokerNews will be on hand to bring you exclusive coverage including hand-for-hand reporting starting from the official final table of nine. Stay tuned to follow along as the World Series of Poker crowns a new champion who will wrap the famous gold bracelet around their wrist and pocket $262,501.
