Richard Dubini Delivers a Double Knockout to Soar to the Top

Level 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

Richard Dubini was facing two all-ins with about 4,400 in the pot on a board reading {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Dubini was in the big blind and had 13,000 out in front of him, with a player in early position all in for 43,650 and Abe Mosseri all in on the button for 53,250. Dubini had well over 100,000 behind and had a decision to make. He went into the tank for about three minutes and eventually called.

Dubini tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for top two pair, queens and jacks. Mosseri said, "I have spades, but I know I'm barbecued." The early-position player had {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for the nut flush draw, and Mosseri tabled {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for top pair with a king kicker and the second-nut flush draw.

The turn all but sealed the deal with the {j-Clubs}, filling Dubini up. The river was the {7-Diamonds}, and both Mosseri and the early-position player were eliminated.

Dubini now sits on 265,000, which is good for one of the top stacks approaching the end of the night.
