Polk Trying to Recover Chips

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Doug Polk

Doug Polk had a rough second level of the day, and his stack dwindled down to around 120,000 chips. He even admitted himself, "They're dropping the hammer on me today." Polk was coolered in a hand earlier when he made top two pair against his opponent's middle set in a big pot.

However, if anyone can turn it around, it is Polk.

In the hand before the break, a player in early position shoved all in for his remaining 40,900, and Polk called from late position. Polk showed {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}, and his opponent had two live cards with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

The board ran out {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Polk's pair of kings won him the pot to recover some of his earlier losses.
