Athanasios Polychronopoulos Gets a River Fold

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Athanasios Polychronopoulos raised to 2,200 from under the gun and got calls from the player on the button and the player in the small blind.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts} and the small blind checked. Polychronopoulos bet 3,300 and the button called while the small blind folded.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and both players checked to the {4-Spades} on the river. Polychronopoulos paused for a moment and bet 8,700. The button initially had a confused look on his face, and then sat back in his chair to think. He played with some chips and then cut out a bet, looking like he was going to call. He almost tossed the chips in, and then had a confused look on his face again before setting the chips down and mucking his cards.

Polychronopoulos raked in the pot and sits on just below the starting stack with 48,000.

[Removed:552] Busts Set Under Set

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the heads-up flop of {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Felipe Davila checked and [Removed:551] one seat over bet 6,000 in the hijack. Davila check-raised to 15,000 and [Removed:552] eventually reraised to 34,000. Only a few moments later, Davila clicked it up to more than 70,000 and [Removed:552] moved all in for around 80,000 to receive a quick call.

[Removed:552]: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Davila: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The one-outer didn't arrive. Instead, the board completed with the {9-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river. [Removed:552] was covered and joined the rail, while Davila bumped his stack to well above the average.

Arieh Loses Some

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The blinds were heads up on a completed board of {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and the small checked to Josh Arieh in the big. Arieh bet 9,100 into the existing pot of about 20,000 and the small blind quickly called. Arieh tabled {J-Spades}{7-Hearts} for two pair, jacks and sevens, but his hand was no good against the small blind's {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for aces and eights.

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Andy Bloch
Andy Bloch

We caught up with Andy Bloch on a board of {K-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} and he put out a bet of 4,000 into a pot of about 12,000. His opponent put out a raise to 10,000 from the button and after thinking through it a bit, Bloch called.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Bloch checked over to his opponent. The player put out a bet of 20,000 and Bloch thought about it for about 30 seconds before letting his hand go.
