Di Zhang Cracks James Calvo's Aces

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

James Calvo raised to 6,000 and was called by the player in the small blind. Di Zhang made it 25,000 from the big blind and Calvo four-bet to 100,000. The small blind folded and Zhang moved all in. Calvo called for about 260,000.

Calvo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Zhang: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the jack hit to give Zhang a set, cracking Calvo’s aces to send him home. Zhang now has a massive chip stack.

Matt Glantz Flops Trips

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Matt Glantz raised to 4,500 from the cutoff and was called by the button and the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the big blind checked. Glantz bet 6,500, the button folded, and the big blind called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the big blind checked again. Glantz bet 11,500 and his opponent continued to call.

The river brought the {j-Hearts} and the big blind checked for the third time. Glantz thought for a bit and a smile grew on his face. He checked behind and tabled {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. "I don't think you can call me if I bet," Glantz said as he scooped in the pot.

Hall Busts; Hakim Wins With Kings

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Short stack Ryan Hall got his last 10 big blinds in with {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and was called by Luis Asmo with {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Asmo got there and sent Hall to the rail.

Joshua Sexton will soon be facing the same scenario of push or fold, as he just lost a bigger pot to Jeff Hakim. The latter raised from early position and Sexton just called out of the small blind. On the {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}, Sexton check-raised to 15,000 and Hakim called before the {4-Spades} turn was checked through.

Sexton bet the {4-Diamonds} river for 15,000 and Hakim called to see Sexton turn over pocket queens. Hakim had that beat with {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and Sexton shook his head in disgust.
