Ruslan Gazaev Slays "The Dragon"

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
David Pham
David Pham

David "The Dragon" Pham moved all in under the gun for roughly 400,000. Action folded around to Ruslan Gazaev who thought for a bit, then made the call from the big blind.

Pham: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Gazaev: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The flop was safe for Pham when it came {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs}, but that changed on the {Q-Diamonds} turn where Gazaev took the lead. He further improved on the {Q-Hearts} river and his three of a kind were good to slay "The Dragon" and remove him from the tournament.

Ian Johns Cracks Kings to Double Up

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Ian Johns
Ian Johns

Ian Johns raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and it folded to Luther Tran in the big blind. He three-bet to 155,000 and, after some consideration, Johns slid his chips forward and was all in.

Tran snap-called, his chips almost beating Johns's into the pot. Tran showed {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Johns showed {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}.

However, there was a jack in the window of a {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, and there was no help for Tran on the {6-Clubs} turn or the {10-Hearts} river.

"Jack in the window," said Johns's neighbor Martin Finger.

"Can't ask for more than that!" replied Johns.

Bazeley Cracks Aces to Bust [Removed:292]

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Jake Bazeley
Jake Bazeley

The action started with a raise to 63,000 by Robert [Removed:292] and Jake Bazeley in the small blind waved to see the stack of [Removed:292], then three-bet to 200,000. Back on [Removed:292], he four-bet to 438,000 and Bazeley moved all in, which [Removed:292] called in a heartbeat.

[Removed:292]: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Bazeley: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Bazeley sighed over to table neighbor Ben Lamb and stood up from his chair after the flop fell {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. As soon as Bazeley was on his feet, the {Q-Spades} appeared on the turn to see him improve to a set, and the blank {J-Clubs} river changed nothing whatsoever.

Both stacks were counted and Bazeley had 1,495,000. [Removed:292] was covered with just over 1.2 million and joined the rail in 228th place.

Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Kenny Hallaert opened with a raise to 55,000 from middle position. Action folded to Pedro Oliveira on the button and he reraised, making it 160,000 to play. Action folded back around to Hallaert and he called.

On the flop of {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, Hallaert checked over to Oliveira and he put out a large bet of 313,000. Hallaert let out a big sigh then flicked his cards away, folding. Oliveira scooped the pot and added to his stack while Hallaert continues to trend downward from where he started the day.

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

After defending his big blind, Georgios Zisimopoulos checked a flop of {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts} to Gordon Campbell who bet 130,000. Zisimopoulos moved all in for around 450,000 and Campbell called.

Zisimopoulos: {3-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Campbell: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {5-Diamonds}, meaning Zisimopoulos doubled up.

"Got to defend the big blind," said tablemate Neil Patel. "A big blind special!"
