Messina Flops Big on Reard

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Alexandre Reard opened to 450,000 in the cutoff, and Valentin Messina defended big blind.

Messina check-called a bet of 400,000 on the {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked the {3-Spades} turn, and Messina bet 850,000 on the {10-Diamonds} river. Reard sounded less than pleased but eventually called.

Messina showed {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for flopped trips and swept up the pot, leaving his opponent short.

Pisane Takes From Luske

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Christian Pham raised to 550,000 from early position, Marcel Luske called on the button, and Randy Pisane called from the big blind.

The flop came down {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, and action checked to Luske, who bet 1,300,000. Pisane cut out the chips to make a big raise but eventually decided to just call. Pham folded quickly. The turn was the {j-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {4-Hearts} river. Pisane bet 1,700,000, and Luske folded rather quickly, allowing Pisane to take down the pot.

Matt Bond
Matt Bond

Action folded to Richard Gryko in middle position, and he opened the action to 450,000. Matt Bond was in the cutoff and moved all in for 3,235,000. Action went back to Gryko, and he called.

Richard Gryko: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Matt Bond: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Bond was in a flip for his tournament life. The flop was {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and Gryko took the lead. The turn was the {q-Diamonds}, and Bond was down to a final card to stay alive. The river was the {3-Hearts}, and Gryko took it down, eliminating Matt Bond in 35th place.

Michael Ruane raised to 500,000 from early position, and Ben Lamb defended his big blind.

They checked to the turn of the {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board, where Lamb bet 625,000. Ruane called, and the {8-Hearts} river completed the board. Lamb checked, and Ruane checked behind.

Lamb showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for a missed straight draw, while Ruane tabled {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for kings and nines to win the pot.

"Bad Turn, Good River"

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Valentin Messina raised to 425,000 from the cutoff, and Scott Blumstein three-bet to 1,330,000 from the button. Messina gave him a stare but elected to fold.

In the second hand back from the break over on Table 724, Jonas Mackoff moved all in, and Blumstein asked for a rough count but folded rather quickly. Once the action was on Scott Stewart, he asked for an exact count, and Mackoff was all in for 2,110,000. Stewart called, and the cards were turned over.

Jonas Mackoff: {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Scott Stewart: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

"Close one. With ace-ten, I guess you snap-call," Mackoff said, and Stewart nodded.

The {J-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop provided chop outs, but the {5-Clubs} was not a good card for Mackoff. The {4-Diamonds} river secured the split pot, and Mackoff said, "Bad turn, good river."

The flop came {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Luske checked, and Guay bet 450,000. Luske quickly called. The turn was the {4-Spades}, and both players checked to the {2-Diamonds} on the river. Luske led out for 900,000, and Guay asked, "Are you serious?" He went into the tank for about a minute and eventually called.

Luske tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a pair of tens, and Guay mucked.
