Elpayaa Nearing Six Figures

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Joe Elpayaa and another player went heads up to a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Elpayaa fired out 2,300, and his opponent bumped it up to 7,000. Elpayaa thought it over for a few moments before calling, and the {8-Hearts} hit the turn. Elpayaa checked this time, and his opponent made it 10,000 to go.

Elpayaa again thought for a few moments to make his decision, but this time he raised it up to 22,000. His opponent tanked for about a minute before folding, and the two players engaged in some small banter after the hand, each won saying they thought the other might be bluffing.

"I assure you I had you beat," Elpayaa said with a smile as he raked in the chips to push his stack to 95,000.
