Sesay Chips Up

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Men Nguyen was in late position and raised to 275. The player on the button moved all In for 1,200. Sulaiman Sesay called in the small blind, as did Nguyen.

The flop was {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, and both players checked. The turn was the {4-Clubs}, and Sesay led for 1,500. Nguyen folded, and Sesay tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. The all-in player showed {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The river bricked off with the {5-Hearts} and Sesay scooped up a nice pot.

Gilbard Takes One With Jacks

Level 3 : 75/150, 25 ante

Alexis Gilbard was heads-up on a {A-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop when she fired out 550. Her opponent called, and Gilbard checked when the {K-Spades} hit the turn. Her opponent bet out 1,100, Gilbard called, and the {5-Spades} completed the board. Gilbard checked again, and her opponent thought it over a bit before she checked back.

Gilbard announced, "Jacks,"and her frustrated opponent flung her cards into the muck. "It would have been hard for me to call the river," Gilbard admitted with a smile as she stacked her newly acquired chips.
