Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship Starts at 3 p.m.!
The first Omaha championship of the 2017 World Series of Poker will be underway in just a few short hours! This afternoon at 3 p.m., many of the most fearsome Omaha players in the world will take their seats in pursuit of WSOP gold in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.
In this event, players will begin with 50,000 chips at 500/1,000 limits. Levels are 60 minutes each and there will be a 15-minute break every two levels. Players are scheduled to play 10 levels today, 10 more tomorrow, and will play down to a winner on Tuesday.
Last year, Benny Glaser won a historic victory in this event, taking home $407,194 and his third career bracelet. The victory earned him the distinction of "Brit with the most bracelets," and he became the first player ever to be presented with two bracelets in a single ceremony. Glaser shipped the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better event just days prior to winning this tournament, so there was no time for the first bracelet ceremony to be held before he took this one down, and the ceremonies were combined.
