Honglin Jiang Eliminated in 7th Place (AU$37,350/$25,280)

Level 20 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Honglin Jiang
Honglin Jiang

There was a little pushing and shoving and a couple of small pots played following the rise of the blinds, but no real changes in the pecking order until an explosion of action saw New Zealand's Honglin Jiang depart in a flurry of cards and chips.

It was an increasingly active Adrian Attenborough who was the initial raiser, making it 50,000 to go from under-the-gun with Shivan Abdine flat calling on the button. Jiang was in the small blind and after checking his hole cards he moved all-in for ~400,000. Attenborough made a speedy fold and Abdine made an equally quick call and the cards were turned over.

Honglin Jiang: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Shivan Abdine: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

It was left to a good old fashioned race to decide Jiang's fate, and the runout came {6-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to send the Kiwi to the rail in seventh for an AU$37,350 payday.

Attenborough Flushes Doumani

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Adrian Attenborough raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and was called by Michael Doumani and Marc Camphausen in the blinds.

The flop came {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Doumani bet out 55,000. Camphausen mucked. Attenborough raised to 132,000. Doumani called.

The turn fell the {6-Spades} and Doumani checked. Attenborough tossed out 115,000. Doumani snap-called.

The {j-Spades} completed the board and Doumani opted to check. Attenborough fired another 125,000.

Doumani and Attenborough then chatted back and forth before Doumani convinced himself to call.

Attenborough confidently tabled {k-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush, and took down the pot, after Doumani tapped the table and mucked his hand.

Amiri Doubles Through Obst

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

It was Honglin Jiang the instigator, opening the action for 42,000 from the cutoff. James Obst eyed up Jiang's stack and took a little time before announcing 'all-in' and shoved for 542,000.

Action folded around to Ehsan Amiri in the big blind who, from the look on his face, had a tough decision to make and he hit the think tank. Eventually, Amiri decided to roll the dice and moved all-in for 218,000 in total. Jiang quickly got out of the way and both Obst and Amiri revealed their hole cards.

Ehsan Amiri: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
James Obst: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Amiri was the player at risk but had the dominating hand. There was a bit of a sweat for both players on the {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout, with Amiri the man to ultimately make his flush.

Charlie Hawes Eliminated in 8th Place (AU$29,330/$19,850)

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Charlie Hawes
Charlie Hawes

Charlie Hawes final table has come to a close with Shivan Abdine the closer. It was Abdine who instigated the initial action, opening to 40,000 from under-the-gun with the action folding around to Hawes on the button, who moved all-in for 263,000 in total.

Michael Doumani asked for a count and eyed up the stacks behind him belonging to Marc Camphausen (730k) and Abdine (740k) and elected to fold, as did Camphausen. Abdine however, was going nowhere and cut out the calling chips and the cards went on their backs.

Shivan Abdine: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Charlie Hawes: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Hawes was at risk with a dominated hand and the {4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop was not a kind one, giving Abdine the nut flush draw to go with his lead in the hand. The {5-Diamonds} turn and {7-Diamonds} river would be the last two cards Hawes would see in the event, hitting the rail in eigth place for AU$29,330.

George Mitri

The action folded around to Shivan Abdine in the small blind who moved all-in. George Mitri made the quick call from the big blind with 61,000 behind.

Abdine: {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Mitri: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}

Mitri had the best hand before the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} improving Abdine to a pair and the winning hand.

Camphausen Leaves Mitri on Life Support

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Marc Camphausen
Marc Camphausen

George Mitri might have come in with the chip lead but a frozen run of cards has seen him drop down the ladder to the very bottom.

Mitri started the hand with ~440,000, but it was Germany's Marc Camphausen the man who lit the fuse on the hand that would blow Mitri's stack to dust. Camphausen made it 45,000 to go from under-the-gun and Mitri three-bet to 130,000 from two seats over.

Action folded back around to Camphausen, who tanked for a minute or so before pulling the trigger and shoving for 358,000 in total. Mitri had a big decision to make and looked on the fence between folding or calling, eventually choosing the latter.

Marc Camphausen: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
George Mitri: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Camphausen held the lead with a premium pocket pair while Mitri had the suited big chick. The runout came {8-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and the German celebrated with a fist pump and a whispered 'Yessssss!' to climb to 730,000 in chips.

Mitri stoically shipped over the chips to his opponent, dropping to 80,000 (five big blinds) in the process.

Attenborough Pressures Mitri

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

George Mitri raised to 35,000 from under the gun before Adrian Attenborough re-raised to 86,000 from middle position.

"I thought it was time we played a hand," said Attenborough cheerfully. Mitri called.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Mitri checked. Attenborough continued for 40,000. Mitri called.

Both players checked the {3-Clubs} on the turn before the {a-Spades} completed the board.

Mitri checked. Attenborough moved all in for around 650,000 which had Mitri stack of 495,000 covered.

Mitri went into the tank for several minutes before time was called on his action.

The tournament director counted down from 30 seconds, then deemed Mitri's hand dead, resulting in Attenborough taking down the pot.
