Action on Feature Table Starting Slowly

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Players are easing into the action slowly at the moment. Michael Doumani tried to get something going with a pre-flop shove for 165,000 but found no customers and took down the blinds and antes.

Charlie Hawe raised the next hand to 22,000 from under-the-gun with big blind George Mitri the only caller. Mitri checked the {2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop over to Hawe, who continuation bet 17,000, which Mitri called.

The dealer burned and turned the {5-Spades}, which brought checks from both players, as did the {2-Spades} river. First to act, Mitri revealed {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, which was enough to win the pot.

Action folded around to Chao Duan on the button the hand afterwards, and he juiced it to 20,000, which was enough to take it down.

Ehsan Amiri and Adrian Attenborough tangled in the following hand with Amiri the pre-flop raiser, making it 22,000 to go from middle position. Attenborough defended the big blind and made the call, checking the {2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} flop over to Amiri who checked it back.

The {7-Diamonds} turn saw Attenborough seize the initiative with a 60,000 bet, which was enough to take down the hand.

Sosia Jiang
Sosia Jiang

Sosia Jiang moved all-in for 101,000 from the button and was quickly called by Marc Camphausen in the small blind. Shivan Abdine then moved all-in over the top from the big blind for around 460,000 which had both players covered. The decision was back on Camphausen, who thought for a minute, before releasing his hand to the muck.

"I have a straight," joked Jiang, before tabling {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.

Abdine turned over his {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and had Jiang dominated.

The board ran out {7-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}, improving Abdine to a flush, resulting in Jiang hitting the rail first on Day 2.

Jiang Picks Off Huang

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

With the board reading {3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and 80,000 already in the pot in a heads-up hand between Vincent Huang and Honglin Jiang, Huang had checked the action over to Jiang, who fired for 30,000. Huang called and the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}.

The action went check, check and the river came down {4-Spades}. This saw Huang take a stab for a sizable 180,000 and Jiang hit the think tank. Eventually, he dropped in a single green 25k chip to represent the call and the cards were revealed.

Huang showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for ace-high but was behind to Jiang's {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} rivered trips. Huang dropped down to 150,000 after that little misadventure, which Jiang is riding high on 800,000.

Chao Duan Eliminated in 13th Place AU$15,620/$10,570

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chao Duan
Chao Duan

The hand started innocuously enough with action folding around to Ehsan Amiri in the small blind, who just completed and Chao Duan checked his option in the big blind.

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Amiri check-called a 10,000 Duan flop bet to keep the duo in action to the {5-Hearts} turn where the action went check, check.

All the fireworks happened on the {q-Spades} river - Amiri now led for 55,000 and after some consideration, Duan moved all-in for ~260,000 and Amiri made a speedy call.

Duan, holding {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} had rivered two pair, which was rather unfortunate as Amiri had made his straight on the turn with {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and the field is now down to 12 players. Amiri stacked up to 380,000 after the hand.

Patrick Laoyont Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$18,970/$12,840)

Level 16 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Patrick Laoyont
Patrick Laoyont

James Obst raised to 20,000 from the cutoff and was called by Patrick Laoyont in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Laoyont moved all-in for his remaining 35,000. Obst snap-called.

Obst: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Laoyont: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Obst had flopped top pair and had the lead against Laoyont who had bottom pair.

No help would come for Laoyont, as the board ran out the {7-Diamonds} and {8-Diamonds}, ultimately ending his run in 12th place.
