Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Chao Duan opened to 260,000 from under-the-gun plus one and Duy Vu chose to defend his big blind and the duo headed off to battle for another sizable pot.

The {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Spades} flop saw no betting, with Vu taking the betting lead on the {2-Clubs} turn, firing out for 400,000 with Duan making the call to bring in the {10-Clubs} river.

Vu reached for the big chips, cutting out a bet of 1-million and Duan did not take long to call, but could only muck when Vu revealed {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for top pair.

Edwin Chiu raised to 300,000 from the small blind and was called by Steven Zhou in the big blind.

Segre Doubles Through Duan

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Lior Segre vs. Chao Duan
Lior Segre vs. Chao Duan

Lior Segre has been surfing the short-stack for the last couple of levels but earned a double at the expenses of Chao Duan in a battle of the blinds.

Segre had moved all-in from under-the-gun two hands prior to take the blinds and antes, folding the big blind to Duy Vu's small blind shove the following hand.

The hand after saw the action fold around to Segre in the small blind and he moved all-in for 1.76-million and after asking for a count Chao Duan made the call to put Segre at risk.

Lior Segre: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Chao Duan: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Statistically, Duan was a slight favourite in the hand, with a chop likely one time in four. However, Segre bucked the odds to win the hand and earn the double when the board ran out {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} with the {6-Spades} window card bringing cheers from Segre's watching rail.

Duy Vu Eliminated in 6th Place (AU$83,086/~$56,837)

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 160,000 ante
Duy Vu
Duy Vu

Edwin Chiu raised to 350,000 from the cutoff. John Zwaine called from the small blind. Duy Vu then re-raised to 1,500,000 from the big blind. Chiu thought for a minute and called. Zwaine got out of the way.

The flop came {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Vu moved all in for 4,050,000. Chiu snap-called with more behind.

Chiu: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Vu: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Vu had made a move with queen-high and run into Chiu's monster pocket pair.

The {9-Clubs} on the turn gave Vu outs to a gut-shot straight.

The {2-Diamonds} on the river wouldn't help and Vu was sent to the rail in 6th place.

Chiu moves to over 15 million, giving him almost half the chips in play, with five remaining.

The following hand saw Zhou make it 400,000 from under-the-gun with Edwin Chiu calling from the big blind to take play heads-up to a flop of {j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}, with Zhou taking down the pot with an all-in shove when Chiu checked the action over.

Duan Chao won the next hand, opening to 325,000 on the button, with Zhou calling from the big blind to take play heads-up to a flop of {6-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Zhou check folded to Duan's 225,000 continuation bet.

The last hand before the break saw Edwin Chiu make it 350,000 to go from the button with Zhou and John Zwaine calling from the small and big blind respectively.

All three players checked the {5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{7-Spades} flop, with Zhou taking a stab for 425,000 on the {q-Diamonds} turn. Chiu called and both players checked the {5-Spades} river, with Chiu taking down the pot with {j-}{7-} after Zhou showed down {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.
