Tu Le Eliminated in 7th Place (AU$8,815)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Tu Le
Tu Le

Dinh Pham raised to 25,000 from under the gun and was called by Tu Le in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Le checked. Pham continued for 35,000. Le called.

The {8-Diamonds} dropped on the turn and Le checked. Pham potted to 126,000. Le tanked for over a minute before announcing all in for 243,000. Pham snap-called.

Pham: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Le: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Pham had a flush and led Le who had top set.

The {6-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing and Le would hit the rail in 7th place.

Ash Gupta Eliminated in 8th Place (AU$8,815/$6,045)

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Ash Gupta
Ash Gupta

Ash Gupta (button) and Yalcin Kaya (big blind) got into a pre-flop raising war that saw all the chips go in, with Gupta the man whose tournament life was on the line.

Yalcin Kaya: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Ash Gupta: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Both hands were fairly close in equity, and while Gupta hit the {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, so did Kaya, who spiked two-pair on the {k-Clubs} turn to take the lead in the hand, though Gupta still had plenty of outs with an open-ended straight draw.

However, the {10-Hearts} river was not one of them and Gupta hit the rail in eighth for AU$8,815 to set up the final table. Kaya stacked up to 580,000 after the hand.

Adrian Rarung Eliminated in 9th Place (AU$6,340/$4,345)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Adrian Rarung
Adrian Rarung

The remaining eight players are just one elimination away from the unofficial seven-handed final table, with Tam Truong flexing his monster stack to send Adrian Rarung to the rail.

Rarong sparked the action with a button raise with Truong re-popping from the small blind and then calling his opponent's shove and the cards were turned over.

Adrian Rarong: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Tam Truong: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}

Rarong was leading pre-flop and stayed in front on the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. However, the {3-Clubs} turn gave Truong a pair, which was enough to send Rarong crashing out of the tournament in ninth place for an AU$6,340 payday, while Truong stacked up to ~1.85 million.

"I was feeling lucky," quipped Truong as he padded out his already ample stack still further and he now has more than double that of next closest rival Dinh Pham, who has a little over 600,000.

Le Doubles Through Elkassir

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Tu Le earned a double-up at the expenses of Mohammed Elkassir to climb back to a playable stack. Following an Elkassir button raise and a Le call from the small blind, all the chips went in on a flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Tu Le: {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Mohammed Elkassir: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Both players were drawing to the flush, and while Elkassir had Le's hearts dominated Le had a pair to go with it and the {9-Spades} improved this to two pair. The {6-Clubs} river saw Le double to 226,000, while Elkassir dropped to 240,000.

Andrew Hindmarch Eliminated in 11th Place (AU$4,564); Nyamdorj Nyamsuren Eliminated in 10th Place (AU$6,340)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Andrew Hindmarch
Andrew Hindmarch

Tam Truong raised to 25,000 from under the gun before Nyamdorj Nyamsuren re-raised to 90,000 from the button. Andrew Hindmarch shoved for 102,000 from the small blind. Truong and Nyamsuren called.

The flop came {2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Truong checked. Nyamsuren moved all in for his remaining 67,000. Truong snap-called.

Truong: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Nyamsuren: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Hindmarch: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Truong had flopped a flush and led against both opponents.

Neither player would improve after the {9-Hearts} turn and {4-Hearts} river awarding Truong the double knockout.

Kamyar Ekrami Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$4,564)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Kamyar Ekrami
Kamyar Ekrami

Kamyar Ekrami opened with a raise before Adrian Rarung re-raised putting him all in. Ekrami called with 68,000 behind and the cards were tabled.

Rarung: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}
Ekrami: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}

Ekrami would be unable to improve after the board ran out {8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} ending his day in 12th place.

Harry Basle Eliminated in 13th Place (AU$3,292/$2,250)

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Harry Basle
Harry Basle

A clash between big blind Harry Basle and Tu Le left the former circling the drain after the former potted from the big blind following an under-the-gun Le raise.

Harry Basle: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Tu Le: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to see Le's jacks hold and Basle was down to his last 7,000 and was all-in from the small blind the very next hand.

Tam Truong made it 30,000 to go pre-flop, folding out the rest of the table and the two players revealed their holdings.

Harry Basle: {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Tam Truong: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

"Of course you've got aces there..." quipped Basle good-naturedly to Truong. Basle's final board ran out {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} to bring the field down to the last two tables as Basle hit the rail in 13th place for an AU$3,292 payday.
