Ekrami Back With a Vengeance; Busts Thurlow

Kamyar Ekrami made a stylish late entrance, though 2018 PLO runner-up Ben Thurlow probably wishes he hadn't. Ekrami was in the big blind for his first hand of the day

Thurlow was the man driving the action with a pre-flop raise to 6,000 and the freshly arrived Ekrami made the call to take the action heads-up to a flop.

This is when all the chips went in; Ekrami checked it over to Thurlow, who continuation bet 9,000. Ekrami busted out the check-raise to 21,000, Thurlow shoved and Ekrami called immediately.

Mansour on the Comeback Trail

With the flop reading and 37,200 in the pot, an interesting three-way hand played out between Mikael Larsson (big blind), Tao Chen (middle position) and Ramin Mansour (cutoff).

There had already been some betting action from the other two before Mansour had moved all-in from the button for ~65,000. Larsson mulled it over for a few seconds before declaring he was all-in as well and sliding out a 100k tower of yellow chips to represent this fact.

This sent the third man in the hand, Tao Chen, deep into the tank, where he remained for several minutes as some of the other players in the tournament wandered over to watch the sizable pot that was brewing. Eventually, Chen folded, telling the table after the hand that he folded the nut flush draw, and Larsson and Mansour turned over their hands.

Larsson grimaced when he saw how bad a shape he was in, with Mansour holding the case five and dominating his set, and the turn and river saw the latter scoop the sizable pot - not bad at all when you consider the fact that Mansour returned for Day 2 with just 17,000 in chips.

Mansour stacked up to 160,000 after the hand, while Larsson dropped to 101,000.

Pham Flushes Trayner

Malcolm Trayner's tournament is over courtesy of Dinh Pham. With the board reading and 85,000 in the pot, Trayner (under-the-gun) fired out for a pot-sized bet leaving himself 35k behind and Pham put him all-in. Trayner made the call for his tournament life and the cards were turned over.

Dai Eliminated by Hindmarch

The floor was just called over to Table 30 to resolve an issue.

The board showed and 154,400 had amassed in the pot.

Dai was sitting in the small blind and had exposed two of his cards, the an .

The problem was that Andrew Hindmarch, the other player in the hand, hadn't actually checked behind.

What had happened was that Hindmarch had lifted his arms up and asked Dai how much he was playing behind before lowering them back down to the table. Dai had taken that as a check and exposed his cards. The floor then ruled that Hindmarch or any other player wouldn't lift their arms up and lower them if they were checking. Instead, they would tap the table.

The option was then given to Hindmarch to continue with the hand.

"You can't call now can you?" sighed Hindmarch, before announcing all-in for 95,200. Dai snap-called with less behind.

Dai tabled for a pair of aces.

Hindmarch showed for a full house and took down the pot.

Wang and Truong Battle

The two recently played a hand, with action picked up on a flop of in a three-way pot involving Christos Giannakelos (big blind), who checked the action over to Truong in the cutoff. Truong tossed out a bet of 12,000, with Wang the only caller.
